As some of you may know, I dabble with playing the guitar and have for 11+ years now. At times, I have also messed around with recording in hopes to get enough courage to sing, then start a band, then live in a van for 5 years while touring small venues around the nation, then (of course) making my millions from my hit song(s) and awesomeness. However, things have not panned out this way yet.
Technology has come through for me once again though and, thanks to my trusty iPhone, I now have a 4-track player which allows me to record tracks, sync them wirelessly to my laptop, and edit in my program of choice (which is currently Garageband) for production. The app I am using is Sonoma Wireworks’ Fourtrack.
The procrastinator in me is very happy with the sound quality and small amount of effort needed. The consumer in me who wanted to buy an expensive recording device is thrilled (as the app was only $10). I’ll be posting some tracks here from time to time.
Below is the first track I recorded wih Fourtrack. Later Tators.

Been messing around with ‘Brushes’ for the iPhone. Here’s some stuff I made.
Over the last few months I’ve noticed a trend that appears to be taking over the television and motion picture industries — SUPERIMPOSED GIANT 3-D TEXT FLOATING EVERYWHERE! What seems like a commonplace visual effect seems like an epidemic to me lately.
Either way, I remember seeing this originally in the opening credits of the movie ‘Panic Room’. Great director, mediocre movie, pregnant Jodie Foster, GIANT 3-D TEXT IN THE OPENING CREDITS!!!!
‘Panic Room’ was released in 2002 and afterwards the world saw, what some experts refer to as the GIANT FLOATING 3-D TEXT RECESSION.
Years later, the Discovery Channel rekindled the trend with the following phase of ads :
And the trend is alive again with the new Fox show ‘Fringe’. They use the GIANT 3-D FLOATING TEXT technique in every episode to show the location of select scenes. It is pulled off well but somewhat humorous due to the sci-fi nature of the show. If ratings drop, I predict a full story arc devoted to discovering the secret alien origin of the ominous floating text appearing all over the world (and the government cover-up hiding it all)!
